SCREEN applications can provide multiple benefits, depending upon application timing. Late applications at canopy collapse will protect fruit from excess heat and light, reducing loss due to sunburn by 50 per cent of more.

When applied at low rates (5-10 kg/ha) beginning at flowering, SCREEN can provide multiple benefits, including reduction in flower abortion, fruit drop, improved color development, increased yields, increased Brix, and more uniform ripening.

Crop Use Summary

· Applications prior to flowering can reduce flower abortion

· Fruit set, ripening, color development, and soluble solid levels can be positively influenced from season long applications of a low arte of SCREEN

· Sunburn loss can be reduced by high rate applications of SCREEN

Season Long: Apply SCREEN at 5-10 kg/ha (lbs/A) beginning just prior to crop flowering. Continue applications to maintain a visible film on the plants, about every seven to ten days. SCREEN can be added to the tank with standard insecticide or fungicide applications.

Sunburn reduction: Apply SCREEN at 50 kg/ha when fruit is about half to two-thirds final size. Repeat application at 25 kg/ha to maintain coverage of expanding fruit, approximately every 14 days. Ensure that fruit is  well covered for greatest sunburn reduction.

Spray volumes:  Apply in sufficient volume to provide

complete coverage, but not to runoff.

SCREEN may be applied in a band over the row.

The use of SCREEN can avoid costly crop losses such as these in tomatoes, peppers (capsicums), and other vegetable crops.
